A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at this year's Festival. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Chairman of our Trustees, Andrew Welch said:
"This year’s Festival programme was full of riches: wonderful musicians at the top of their game, brilliant young musicians on their way to becoming stars, music of the great composers, new contemporary music commissioned by the Festival, a superb poetry reading and outstanding talks as well as a choir of 180 primary schoolchildren singing with a famous Baroque group in Exeter Cathedral.”
Festival Artistic Director, Tamsin Waley-Cohen said:
“It's been heartwarming to see how our audience has grown year on year and become ever more involved in the concerts, commissions and talks that make up the festival programme. Many have commented that this festival was the best yet - and there were certainly some unforgettable and historic events, from Exeter Cathedral with Armonico Consort and hundreds of school children from North Devon Primaries, to two new commissions, the Haydn Salon at Great Fulford, and Steven Osborne's spectacular 'Diabelli Variations' to close the festival. I felt the spirit of Beethoven sitting on his shoulder throughout the concert.”
