Who We Are

Kathryn Whitaker is the Festival Administrator and Young Musicians’ Competition manager. She is responsible for the logistics management and administration of the Young Musicians Competition, which is run each year during the Spring. This competition is becoming ever more well-known as an important stepping-stone in the development of talented youngsters.

Kathryn is a biological sciences graduate from Keble College, Oxford University, and is a chartered accountant. Her career has been in strategic finance, both in the UK and overseas, and she is now incorporating more of what she loves (classical, baroque, choral and operatic music) into her working life. She is an amateur musician, having played flute for many years in her youth, is now an avid choral singer, singing with the Exeter Festival Chorus and other auditioned choirs. She lives on a small farm in Devon with her family, and has a flock of rare breed sheep.
